Understanding Total Expense Ratio (TER) Components & SEBI Regulations
1. Base Expense Ratio (BER)
As per Regulation 66(7) of SEBI (Mutual Funds) Regulations, 2026. Covers investment and advisory management fees, registrar and transfer agent charges, custodian fees, and administrative expenses.
2. Brokerage Cost
As per Regulation 66(9) of SEBI (Mutual Funds) Regulations, 2026. Represents annualized, cumulative daily average brokerage costs incurred on trades executed during the reference period. Reset monthly.
3. Transaction Cost
Incurred for the execution of trades under Regulation 66(10) of SEBI (Mutual Funds) Regulations, 2026. Represents annualized, cumulative daily average transaction costs incurred during the reference period.
4. Statutory Levies (including GST & STT)
Includes GST on Base TER and statutory charges such as Securities Transaction Tax (STT), GST on brokerage, and stamp duty incurred during portfolio execution.
